All Things Money, Maybe…
Money management. From a young age, I have always been money cautious. I would spend only when I have the money to. Shout out to my mom who taught me the importance of saving. During the course of entering adulthood, I started making money and saving up. There were times when it was hard to work and meet school needs, so I had to give up on working excessive hours to be good in school.
Back to money and my mindset, I knew what it meant to make and save, but I didn’t know how to manage it. That is, allowing your money to work for you. It got to a point where I had my account in the negative. When that happened reality struck me that I don’t actually know anything about money.
Of recent, I began to search and do a deep dive study of myself and why things didn’t seem right with my spending. I realized that I was a spender duh duh duh. What, how could that be when I had learned that it’s important to watch what you spend your money on and not give in to all cravings?
What I realized was, yes, I did follow those rules but then times came when I thought to myself, “I need all this stuff” and I will go out and splurge. I would call it delayed gratification lol.
Now I am not bad with money, but I realized if my habits didn’t change when I start making the big dough, I won’t be able to help myself. So, what are some things I decided to do?
1. Invest in me through books and money seminars. One thing I am currently learning is using money to work for you. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't say I like work labor, where I work my body standing for hours only to make not as much. The goal is to allow my earning to go into another business of mine that will also provide me income and be self-sufficient. In these days of technology, so much can be done. One book I am reading now is Think and grow rich
2. Surround myself with like-minded people who understand what the goal is and how to make it work.
3. Opening my mind to the possibility of going out and beyond. The mind is an amazing entity that I personally I am still learning about. Still, a positive mindset gives room for growth and to develop oneself.
These are only a few things I am currently doing. I know that as time goes on, I will know better and ultimately do better.
